Steven Kemp

Working with his son Matthew, Steven Kemp has been a potter on Cape Cod for over forty years. His recent love is creating sand-pattern vessels from plaster castings of Cape Cod Bay, then wood-firing them.  In 2015, he completed a commission for downtown Hyannis of an eight-foot stoneware monolith incorporating grooved sand patterns in the vesica picsis shape.
