Marie Woo

Marie Woo is a ceramicist, curator and researcher, Asian clay historian, glaze alchemist, and conceptual photographer. She was born in Seattle, Washington, in 1928. She received her BA from the University of Seattle, Washington, her MFA from Cranbrook Acadamy, and lives in West Bloomfield, Michigan. In 2016, she had her first retrospective show at the Robinson Gallery in the Birmingham-Bloomfield Art Center, and completed a long-term research project on Chinese Folk Pottery that has become a national travelling exhibit.
