Author Profile
Isabel Ochoa and James Clarke Hicks.

OCH Works is an experimental design practice integrating digital fabrication with traditional craft-based processes. The design practice was established in 2017 as a collaboration between Isabel Ochoa and James Clarke Hicks. OCH Works’ current projects explore how material deformation in digitally crafted ceramics can alter light-scattering behavior. By rendering material explorations into sensory experiences, James and Isabel’s lighting products and installations become immersive environments that reveal the tension between matter and light.
