Danielle Hawk

Danielle Hawk was born in Baltimore, Maryland. In 2016, Hawk earned bachelor’s degrees in art education and general fine arts. She currently teaches ceramics for Baltimore County Public Schools and Towson University. In 2022, Hawk received her MFA in Studio Arts with a concentration in ceramics from Towson University. She has participated in group and solo exhibitions nationwide, most recently completing an artist-in-residence with The Hambidge Center for Creative Arts and Sciences.

Graduate school taught me to “fail.” Or maybe, more importantly, this was the first time that perfection and precision were questioned as conceptual elements, rather than feats of craftsmanship. With the absence of perfection, I was able to engage in deeper self-reflection and material exploration.
