Author Profile
Alexandra Cespedes Herrera

Alexandra’s connection with clay started in her hometown of Bogota, Colombia, fifteen years back with a year of ceramic classes. Later, her career took her toward industrial engineering. She has been working in architecture and construction ever since.
Four years ago, she reconnected with clay as a hobby. Looking for a professional mentor dedicated to ceramics, she came across the Zakin Apprenticeship Program, run by Robbie Lobell, Studio Potter board member and co-president. She applied, was accepted, and relocated to Whidbey Island, Washington. The hobby has become a new career path, a new beginning for Alexandra as a studio potter.
