Here at Studio Potter, the non-profit journal for the clay community, we pride ourselves on offering what we think is a pretty luxurious publication. But behind what you see is a no-frills operation with two part-time staff positions, backed by a hands-on board of directors who volunteer many hours every month to make this publication what it is.
Please match their commitment by donating to Studio Potter during this, our Spring fund drive. We know how much you appreciate what we do, and we ask you to put a dollar value on that appreciation. No amount is too large or too small. Donate Here.
We need your dollars and your ideas. Studio Potter is committed to continuing the journal’s mission to publish thought-provoking material you won’t read anywhere else. Other ceramics magazines are largely filled with the “what” of ceramics – the how-to and nuts-and-bolts. You’ll see that in Studio Potter, too, but we’re more interested in the “why.” We publish thoughtful pieces written by leaders in the field, and, more importantly, those who’ve had little exposure in publications. We care about the unique perspective each brings. We like to think of this journal as the New Yorker, or maybe the NPR, of the clay community.
You are our friends, our neighbors, and our comrades in the clay community. And so as a non-profit, we need you just as much as you need us. Studio Potter is a niche publication, to be sure, but as niches go, it’s one of the richest and most vibrant in the art world. Studio Potter has been a mainstay in ceramics studios, universities, libraries, galleries and supply outlets for more than fifty years. Let’s keep it thriving and moving forward, stoking the fires of imagination and creativity in people who love reading about – and writing for – this multi-faceted and diverse world of ceramics.
When you support Studio Potter, you support the fifty-three-year legacy of independent and thought-provoking journalism by and about people who’ve dedicated their lives to clay. You support Studio Potter’s mission to engage in dialogue within our community and quality writing in the field of ceramics. And you help secure the future of the field of ceramics by providing opportunities for young professionals to have their articles published and their work featured in a major publication. The icing on the cake is that your generosity is tax-deductible. Donate Here.
Your support is crucial to the life of this vital voice in the clay community.
There isn’t a better time to renew your commitment or become a first-time donor, and a gift of as little as $50 will make a big impact. Please help ensure the future of independent journalism in the clay community and give today.
