Josh Speers, the motopotter

Studio Potter's Winter/Spring 2018 issue will focus on North American pottery tours, and our membership director, Joshua Speers, is gearing up. This weekend Josh is kicking off the 2017 season of pottery tours with a ride through SP's home region of Western Massachusetts, visiting the studios of the Asparagus Valley Pottery Trail (AVPT). On Saturday (April 29th) follow Josh on Take magazine's Instagram, @takemagazine as he makes stops at potters' studios in Shelburne Falls, Greenfield, Northfield, Pelham, Hadley, and Florence. Josh plans to do at least two more "motopottery" trips this summer. He says:

"Seeking a deeper connection to the artists and studios on these tours and the winding roads between them, I plan to visit the studios on a vintage motorcycle, fully exposed to the elements and unexpected adventures along the way."

Pictured is Josh's (sometimes) trusty 1969 Honda CB350. Josh has partnered with Nova Motorcycles in Turners Falls, Massachusetts, and will be riding their bikes this summer. Follow him on Instagram @themotopotter all summer long to see which ones he rides, and look for an article in the Winter/Spring 2018 issue of Studio Potter journal (@thestudiopotter).
